Matcha Chai Latte

Where earthy matcha meets warming masala spice.

For 1 Cups:

1 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial grade for best flavor)

Just over 1/2 mug of water

Just under 1/2 mug of milk/milk alternative

1/2 knob of grated ginger

1 green cardamom pods (broken open)

1/4 stick cinnamon

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tsp Assam Tea (Optional)

1 or 2 tsp Jaggery Powder/Sugar (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sift the matcha into a bowl to remove clumps.
  2. Add hot water and whisk briskly in a zig-zag (M or W) motion until frothy and smooth.
  3. Heat your milk with spices, tea and jaggery.
  4. Once it is boiling, strain into a cup.
  5. Pour the matcha over the chai, stir and enjoy!
