our sourcing

tea & Spices

We’ve partnered with tea and spice farms who strive to bridge the physical and emotional distance between the sensitive farmer and the conscious consumer. Each of our partners prioritise quality over quantity, and use age-old organic practices.

By sourcing our ingredients directly, we cut out the middleman, forging relationships with those on the ground, and allow you to experience nothing short of the best.

One our suppliers is a founding member of the fair trade alliance kerala. The FTAK is a small farmer collective which was created to ensure that small scale farming is a sustainable occupation. We've partnered with them to help support their rural farming initiatives in Wayanad, Kerala.

We hope that your contribution will help to support their amazing mission - read on below to see how it all works.

Where does your money go?

1

We purchase fair trade & organic tea and spices.

2

Raw cost of produce provides instant support to farming families.

3

Additional premiums on products through fair trade and organic prices are received by the FTAK cooperative - a centralized hub.

4

The cooperative distributes funds as subsidized loans to certain groups of rural farmers to access goods and infrastructure for organic farming.

5

Premiums also fund further initiatives like soil testing and organic manure units.

6

Once farmers/ groups have paid back the initial subsidized loans, it’s then given to another group of farmers in a fully sustainable cycle.
